This is an OK Christian afterlife morality story. It is the story of 12 year old Alex who loses his battle with leukemia but this is just the start of his battle against the Deceiver (devil). Alex joins with the angels of heaven's Army to battle against the plots of the Deceiver.The story has many provocative concepts on how the forces of evil and God surround people every day. It also reinforces the importance of faith in everyday life and decisions. Overall, I was disappointed that the conflict was too simple. This is mostly due to my preference for more epic scale conflicts while this story focused on saving a single soul.
No major editing or writing issues were noted. The Other Side is 3,125 Kindle locations long; excluding excerpts at end for two sample books. Standard length novels seem to run in the 4,500 to 7,000 plus Kindle location range. Longer books, such as books in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, can range from 15,000 to 20,000 plus Kindle locations.

I did not care for this story. I tried to get into it, but ended up deleting the book. I loved the other series, so I didn't even hesitate to buy this one, did not captivate me at all.
Not often you see a story about what happens after you die that is engaging. Be nice to see more of this character

This is one of my favorite new stories. The creativity and the skill with which it is written blows my mind. I WANT A SEQUEL (or 10)!
I wasn't sure about this one when I read the synopsis, but I'm really glad I read it. This book really makes you think about your faith and what comes next for us. The story was excellent and well told, as all of Tony Neighbor's stories are. It's worth the money and time to read.
I enjoyed the book, maybe because I do believe very strongly in God and Jesus, my Lord and Savior. A very "uplifting of your spirit" book, which I would put on every Teen's Sunday School reading list! It points out clearly there is. War going on we, on Earth, cannot see but the Angels fight daily. Will help any who read it. 5 stars from me!!!
